1966/67 - division three
about the programme
A return to a larger format for the campaign following England’s World Cup triumph. The 16-page issue contained a good mix of news, information, stats and the inevitable advertising. The mainly blue cover carried an aerial photo of the Goldstone, over the match details and an advert for the Evening Argus. As well as the 23 league programmes, Albion played three home matches in the League Cup and two in the FA Cup. The latter of those, the 4th round tie against Chelsea, saw the appearance of a couple of ‘Pirate’ programmes. These were usually very poor productions, designed purely to make money for the publishers. The attendance at the game was 35,000, so they had a captive audience! Programmes were issued for two pre-season friendlies in mid-August, against Maccabi Tel-Aviv and Sheffield United.
