For the first ‘proper’ campaign after WWII, Albion reverted to a more traditional size for the programme, although the 8-page format was retained. The opening programme for the game against Port Vale (see below), has a number of blank spaces, as the club waited for advertisers to return. Local companies did return and the programme took on a familiar feel. The format remained unchanged for all season, apart from the game against Walsall on 1 March 1947, when a single sheet programme was issued, possibly as a result of the poor weather that caused many postponements across the country. This season included Albion’s last home Christmas Day game. We continued until 1957 with games on Christmas Day.
