1951/52 - division three (south)
about the programme
Albion retained the 16-page format but two games at the start of the season (v Torquay United on 29 August and Ipswich Town on 12 September) were just 4 pages. This is probably due to the fact that these were midweek fixtures among a very crowded list of fixtures at the start of the season. Elsewhere, we are treated to the entertaining notes provided by new manager Billy Lane. By the time of the Millwall game just before Christmas, he was taking up nearly 10% of the programme with his ‘Club Chatter’. His notes were always good value and he was never afraid to take issue. Adverts were a big part of the programme but were all for local companies.
