the new offside law
As predicted towards the end of the previous campaign, the new offside law came into effect at the start of the 1925/26 season. It led to some very open games, with many goals being scored before teams came to terms with the new rules.
Albion lost the first match of the season, 4-3 away at Newport County. In the following programme for the game against Watford (pictured), Albino wrote: ‘Offside rule or no offside rule, three goals at Newport want some getting’.
There was just one change to the cover adverts. ‘Sellens Sho-Card Service’ replacing the Bradshaws advert. The overall format remained as per the previous season.
