coat of arms

Another change to the cover of the programme for the 1927/28 season. This time, the advert remained the same, but the heading was changed to show the joint Brighton and Hove coat of arms with a football in between.

No surprises inside however, as the format remains the same.

The notes for the match on 24th September 1927 (pictured) say: “To-day we welcome Exeter City. The Grecians have not started the season any too well and form points to a victory for the Albion to-day. But form does not always work out along expected lines. Exeter are at present only a few places removed from the bottom rung of the League ladder. They have only won one of their last six matches”.

Yes, you’ve guessed it - Exeter won 2-0!

The editorial in the same programme ends: “Jack Jenkins has, with an eye to the future, taken over the proprietorship of the Ideal Fruit Stores, at 133 Edward Street”.
